| Mutant Theater |

One day, I came to realize that the dioramas I was making really needed to DO something. The solution: Throw out the constraining lighted boxes and introduce a few Mutants and Handimals from a decade earlier. The result: Freefloating stages with scenes of foolish optimism turned into twisted tragedies. In one piece, a bird Handimal, sporting a bright red superhero cape, is seen ambitiously perched on the edge of a branch about to take flight, but is completely unable, because he has human arms in place of his natural wings. Perhaps those arms are there through no fault of his own, but nonetheless, it is now impossible for him to fly. Doom is imminent.
